I am
Pam Johnston, a Northern California native—born in Redwood City, and living in the Santa Rosa (Wine Country) area since 1984. After
earning a degree with Honors from Sawyer
Business College in Santa Clara, I worked in a variety of companies, initially
through temp services, first as a secretary and later office manager. I first
learned and applied bookkeeping skills as an office manager for a construction
company building the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Center in 1989. In 1989 I also went back to school to be trained formally in bookkeeping, earning an AA in small business management from Santa Rosa
Junior College.
From 1989 to 2004 I worked as a bookkeeper for a variety of companies: residential home builder Ron Perry,
keeping the books for his company; a wonderful group of people with the Native
Daughters of the Golden West, where I computerized their manual bookkeeping
system; and E.A.
Christine Cromwell, a wonderful woman who gave me the skills and confidence to
strike out in business on my own after five years in her employ.
While I have built a thriving client base for bookkeeping services since starting my business in 2004, I have frequently
gotten feedback that training was a forte of mine that I should pursue. I also
felt an online business that offered my services outside my geographical area
would better serve both my clients and myself. Thus in May, 2009 AskPam.biz was born!
I have been a full-charge bookkeeper for 20 years and have used QuickBooks for
the majority of my work. I have found in the course of working online with my
clients that there is rarely a question that comes up for which I cannot
provide a relatively quick and easy solution. Many
of my clients get the information they need with only a few meetings, often for
set-up and training, which proves very cost-effective for them.
I invite you to try out my services and see how I can help you with your QuickBooks needs!
